Luke Bowlocks

Never mind the bullocks, what about the Luke Bowlocks?

We have demonstrated the potential for the product using fittings of silicon bronze.  Subsquent production runs will be of 316 Stainless steel, which is far less likely to stain a canvas cover. Our lathe is made up of a cold-molded strip of cedar over a spruce core. We’d be happy to quote you a price on a specific length of lathe material, but you must trim it to fit your installation - which is not a difficult job.

Everyone recognizes the need to keep water from accumulating on top of the canvas awning that protects your dinghy or tender while you are away. Poles propped up to elevate the canvas never seem to work, and built-to-suit hardware that uses battens lack any real lateral stability. The Luke Bowlock™ solves both those problems using existing hardware - your existing oarlocks.

Luke Bowlocks™ are available directly from Paul E. Luke, Inc. They are priced at $50 a pair, which includes hardware but not the lathe arch.  We would be pleased provide you with a quote on lathes made from a variety of materials.
